A major cultural event dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia was held in St. Yeghishe Church in London on September 20. The event was organized by the TCA, AGBU and Nor Serount Association in London under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the United Kingdom and the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Great Britain.

Among dignitaries who delivered speeches for the joyous occasion were His Grace Bishop Hovhanessian, Ara Palamudian, the Chairman of the British-Armenian Community Council and Ara Margaryan, the RA Embassy Adviser, who read Ambassador Armen Sarkissian’s message to those present amongst who were the representatives of the Armenian community, heads of community organizations and other guests.

The audience cheered for traditional folk dance of Akhtamar Dance Ensemble and patriotic songs performed by Alla Levonyan, a well-known singer from Armenia.
