Literary encounter with Seyranuhi Geghamyan

The Armenian House in Kensington, London, hosted a literary encounter with Seyranuhi Geghamyan, a writer, publicist, journalist and art critic from Armenia. The event was organized by the Tekeyan Trust and the TCA London.
The speaker of the evening Seda Ananyan, an Armenian-English journalist presented S.Geghamyan’s literary activity and her achievements. She referred to the author’s 15 books, numerous articles published in newspapers and magazines, as well as to her meetings and interviews with prominent artists and intellectuals.
Manuel Adamyan, a London-based writer and publicist spoke about S.Geghamyan’s active work with the Armenian Diaspora in the Diaspora Committee in the Soviet period and later on her importance in the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
The evening featured prominent actress Zhenya Nersisyan who presented some of S.Geghamyan’s articles about Matenadaran and Kh.Abovyan, namely “The treasury of our soul and mind”.
The principle of the K. Tahta Armenian Community Sunday School Ruzanna Tatulyan spoke about S. Geghamyan’s works for children. She read the author’s article “This Amazing Armenian” which is included in the school curriculum. Currently Seyranuhi Geghamyan is working on the book titled “Amazing Armenians”.
Tenor Sipan Olah, the Director of the TTL Komitas Choir performed the song “Caravan” by A.Ayvazyan, accompanied by pianist Ella Babayan. Philologist Tamar Minassian read articles about Alex Manoogian and “Love Each Other” dedicated to the earthquake of 1988.
The evening continued with welcoming speeches by the Hon. Secretary of the TTL Vartan Ouzounian, the representative of the Armenian community Hovik Tagakchian and others. The whole evening the slideshow presented S. Geghamyan’s photos as well as pictures matching the articles read.
