2019-04-02
In 1992 Armenian forces took control of Berdzor (Lachin), the administrative centre of Kashatagh region, and the Lachin corridor which is also called “the road of life” since it is the only land connection between Armenia and Artsakh as well as one of the cornerstones of the national security.
Since September 1994 several schools have been operating in Kashatagh and among them is Berdzor Secondary School №1. The establishment of the first school was one of the greatest achievements of the resettlement of the region.
In 2009 the school was named after Armenian poet and publicist Vahan Tekeyan. Since 2010 a close cooperation and strong ties have been established between the school and the Tekeyan Centre Fund.
There are several classrooms for different disciplines at school such as Technology, Military Science, History, the Armenian Language and Litrature, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, English.
Currently the school has around 200 students and 28 teachers.
