Karbi Secondary School was founded in 1973. In 1989 the school was named after Vahan Tekeyan. Thanks to Arsen Ohanyan who has been the school principle for many years, the school has had many achievements and great success as well as established strong ties with the Tekeyan Centre Fund. Schoolchildren, thanks to their skillful teachers, successfully participate in various contests. Every year, many school graduates continue their education at universities or other educational institutions.

The school has a lot of honored and dedicated teachers who were awarded various titles, diplomas, certificates, etc. Among them are Levon Hovhannisyan (senior teacher, “The Best Teacher of Physics of Aragatsotn Region), Seda Hovhannisyan (“Merited Teacher”), Marieta Mkrtchyan (“The Best Music Teacher of Aragatsotn Region”), Vardanush Hovhannisyan (“Special Prize in IT by the RA President”, a qualification degree).

The school is distinguished with well-organised events, interesting classes and video lessons. It is also famous for its school choir and dance groups which perform not only in Armenia but also abroad and are awarded prizes.

The school also has great sports achievements. Many schoolchildren not only took part in Republican competitions and won, but also successfully represented their country in the world.

Currently, the school has 564 students, 42 teachers.
