2019-04-02
Stepanavan Secondary School №6 was founded in 1992. For six years it functioned in awful building conditions, then in 2004 a new modern block with large, light and cozy classrooms, laboratories for chemistry and biology, and an IT classroom, was built. In 2011 the building of another school block with gyms, event halls, a large library, canteen and sports ground was completed.
In 1994 the school was named after western Armenian renowned poet Vahan Tekeyan. Since 2010 the school has closely been cooperating with the Tekeyan Centre Fund and being involved in all its school projects.
The school is proud of its students who successfully participate in various local, regional and republican contests of knowledge, Olympiads, sports events and festivals.
The school is famous for its flower garden as well as for its pines and fir trees. In 2011 it was awarded “The Best Yard” prize by the Stepanavan Municipality.
Since 2015, the school has been headed by principle Hmayak Martirosyan.
