Free Textbooks

The Tekeyan Centre Fund considers education a very important input for the development and progress of an individual, the key to success in life. It is one of the priorities for any civilized country. Unfortunately, many families experience financial hardship, as a result children are deprived of a minimally adequate educational program since they are more susceptible to the consequences of poverty.

The Tekeyan Centre Fund cares for children whose families cannot adequately provide for their education. Since 2010, thanks to benefactors, the TCF supports the programme “Free Textbooks for Needy Children” which helps the most socially disadvantaged schoolchildren get textbooks for free.

The programme is entirely based on donations which are mainly provided through the efforts of the London Tekeyan Trust. It initiates fundraising campaigns not only in the UK but also abroad.

In 2010-2022 the project budget was AMD 14,579,271 which provided more than 29,500 textbooks for free to 2,178 schoolchildren from Armenia and Artsakh and relieved the financial burden of their families. The TCF aims at increasing the number of project beneficiaries and relies on the generosity of its benefactors and invites organizations, individuals both from Armenia and the Diaspora to cooperate and to support vulnerable children.
