The Tekeyan Centre Fund extends its deep gratitude to the Tekeyan Cultural Association for donating the private collection of the honored cultural figure of the Armenian SSR, renowned educator, and candidate of historical sciences, Professor Karlen Mirzakhanyan, to the TCF "Haigashen and Marie Ouzounian" Library. The collection, consisting of more than 700 books in Armenian and Russian, focuses on history, art, biographies of prominent political and cultural figures, and Armenian Diaspora literature, among other subjects. Karlen Mirzakhanyan was born into a family of a well-known lawyer and a historian. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University and later he got his PhD degree in history. |
Through his academic initiatives, K.Mirzakhanyan made significant contributions to the Armenian university education, authoring four books on historical and cultural topics. He is best known as the founder and first dean of the Faculty of Culture at the Armenian State Pedagogical University in 1969. For more than three decades, he dedicated himself to leading and developing the faculty, transforming it into a premier institution for training cultural professionals in Armenia.
