2023-04-17
The Tekeyan Centre Fund initiated the photo exhibition titled "Ancient Artsakh" authored by journalist, editor, photographer, participant of Artsakh war Zohrab Erkoyan. About eighty photos taken in different years feature the exhibition. They all depict the entire monumental heritage of Artsakh: monasteries, fortresses, cross-stones...
The opening was held at Tekeyan Centre in the presence of intellectuals, clergymen, art critics and lovers as well as other guests. TCF Director Armen Tsulikyan delivered a welcoming speech and noted that the exhibition was more than just a cultural event, since the theme itself emphasized its historical, patriotic, and spiritual importance. “There is a message in this exhibition: this is our heritage, which we received from our ancestors, and we are obliged to pass it on to our descendants”, he mentioned.
Archimandrite Zakaria Bagumyan, Director of the Centre for Christian Education of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, addressed his words of blessing to the patriotic event.
The author, presenting his works, noted that the photographs tell about the main monuments of centuries-old Artsakh (such as Amaras, Tsitsernavank, Dadivank, ect.), most of which are under Azerbaijani control today.
The event concluded with musical programme. Composer and singer Arsen Hambaryan performed patriotic songs. The audience also enjoyed ethnographic dances performed by “Bekor” ensemble.
The exhibition “Antient Artsakh” will be open at Tekeyan Centre until May 5, 2023.
