Mr Vartan Ouzounian receives Certificate of Appreciation
granted by the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

The Tekeyan Trust London celebrated its 40th anniversary at Komitas Chamber Music Hall in Yerevan, Armenia, in the presence of more than 350 people. The event also honoured the only alive founder of the TTL - for his invaluable work in preserving and promoting Armenian cultural identity in the Diaspora, Vartan Ouzounian, founding member of the TTL, its honourary secretary and treasurer for 40 years as well a major benefactor, received a Certificate of Appreciation which was granted by the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The milestone event was in the honorary presence of Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, officials from the Diaspora High Commissioner's Office, the RA Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, as well as numerous cultural and social figures, supporters from the Diaspora and Artsakh.

The official ceremony started with Vartan Ouzounian’s congratulatory speech which also conveyed the main objectives of TTL, its importance in the community life and its main mission of preserving the national identity, religion, the Armenian language and culture through various projects and community life activities. V. Ouzounian also recalled vividly just a few major cultural events (concerts, exhibitions, literary events, etc) organised by the TTL and stated its achievements amongst which was the establishment of a weekly, a dance group, a choir, the fund which sponsors schools in Armenia, etc. V. Ouzounian finalized his speech with deepest gratitude to all benefactors and supporters who greatly contributed to the establishment and further development of the TTL.

Yerem Simonyan passed along a message of congratulations from the Diaspora High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan and expressed his pride in participating in the 40th-anniversary celebration. He also handed Vartan Ouzounian the Certificate of Appreciation granted by the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The official ceremony was concluded with the blessing by the Most Reverend Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan who praised the activities and efforts of TTL and wished more prosperity in the future.

Then the guests were treated to a special live music performance by the state chamber choir ''Hover'', the ensemble of qanon players ''Zvartnots'' and ''Aratta'' music and song group. The guests enjoyed perfect music by Komitas, Sayat Nova, Aram Khachaturyan, Armen Tigranyan, Narine Zarifyan, Arsen Hambaryan as well as folk songs and music.
